good condition. A marvelous collection of literary anecdotes, oddities,
and curious observations, e.g. bibliomania, on the custom of saluting after
sneezing, poets made by accident, early printing, virginity, farces and
sotties, on the custom of kissing hands, etc. etc. Although not identified
in this edition, the author/editor is Isaac D'Israeli (1766-1848), the
father of the British prime minister and author, Benjamin Disraeli.
