    New York City, The Viking Press 1957, 1st edition, hb. Bound in dark blue cloth embossed with stars and moon design. Large 4to, pp. 63. Sl. wear to tips of book, no previous owner's markings - absolutely clean inside, almost as new - in near fine condition.

    The dust jacket has been price-clipped. There is no reference to this book winning the Caldecott Medal (Time of Wonder won the Caldecott Medal for 1958). There is a two inch, somewhat jagged, but closed tear to the bottom left of the front panel, and a thumbnail-sized piece missing from the left bottom edge of the rear panel. There is very little soiling (the inside of the jacket is virtually pure white), and only a few other small incidences of edge-chipping, or tiny closed tears. Where appropriate, all tears have been repaired by our conservator. Altogether, the jacket is in good plus, to very good, condition.
