SCOTT, Sir Walter. POETICAL
WORKS. Complete seven volume set, beautifully bound in cherry red morocco.
Bradbury, Agnew & Co., London. ND (1870s). 16mo. This is the "Handy Volume
'Scott'" with the spines in blind ruled compartments, boards ruled in blind, and
all edges gilt.
Pagination: vol. I, lxiv, 280; vol. II, xiv, 372; vol. III, xvi, 268; vol. IV,
xvii, 272; vol. V, xi, 260; vol. VI, xiv, 251; vol. VII, x, 351: approximately
2,200 pages of commentary and text in a set measuring, in all, barely 6 inches
across by 4.5 inches high and 3.25 inches deep. Each volume contains one, or
more, full page engravings of scenes from Scott's poems. The set is in exquisite
condition, the only observable flaw being a tiny blemish to the base of the
spine of volume I, and some very slight shelf wear, generally, to the bottom
edges of all the volumes. The yellow endpapers are all clean and tight. The
boards are pristine. Overall, in near fine condition. This set would make a
wonderful gift.
Price: $175.00 US / $210 Cdn. (#30399)
